You'll leave with a Printed Guide to raising your own pigs that outlines the topics discussed in the workshop
The farm stand will be open exclusively to workshop attendees with a "thank you for attending" discount

Raising Broiler Chickens on Pasture Date/Time TBD We'll discuss the types of chickens you can choose from, space requirements, shelters, fencing, feeding, butchering yourself & More! This class will include a printed guide to raising broiler chickens so that you can refer back to it whenever you need to.
Propagating your own trees, bushes and plants from cuttings You'll learn about 4 different methods of propagating plants and trees. I'll be using fig trees, elderberry bushes, and roses are examples but these methods will carry over to many different types of plants.
Homesteading 101 Date/Time TBD Do you want to start raising your own food but you're just not sure how to get started? This is a great place to learn the basics and get your questions answered. We'll discuss the animals that best suit different types and sizes of land as well as the options that are easiest and those that are hardest. You'll learn about regenerative practices, rotational grazing, feeding animals properly, and getting the most out of your land. It won't be all about meat production! You'll learn about getting started with a garden. We'll talk about different types of gardens such as raised beds, row gardening, and even the "Back to Eden" method! You'll learn about when you can plant what and what does best in our area. We'll even touch on preservation methods so that the food that you work so hard to produce can last you throughout the year!

One-On-One Consultation We offer onsite consultations to help you prepare for your pastured pigs or other livestock. We will visit you at your Southern Maryland home to take a look at your setup (or where you plan to setup). We will give you ideas and suggestions based on your property and answer all of the questions you have. The consultation fee is $250 and includes travel and a 30 to 60 minute visit. If you end up making a pig purchase from us within 6 months of the visit, we'll credit $100 towards the cost of your new pigs!
