Livestock for sale July 2025

Chris (Chris Sow)

Chris is an example of our immense creativity when it comes to naming pigs. She comes from the “Chris” sow line. TaDa! Don't let her lack of a good name fool you though. She is a great girl and has proven herself a great mother with her first litter of 9 in the spring of 2024 and 11 in early 2025. She is currently expecting her third litter… there’s a catch. The gate didn’t get latched and she found her way to the boar pen… so we think we know who the daddy is, but we aren’t sure. So your new sweet sow comes with a belly full of bonus feeders! This lovely girl is available if the right home came along. Contact the farm with questions or start the process of adding her to your homestead.

Why Idaho Pasture Pigs? I never thought we’d raise pigs—like many people, I only knew the big pink commercial hog and had zero interest. Then we found Idaho Pasture Pigs, and everything changed—they’re calm, friendly, easy to manage, and naturally graze instead of rooting, making them a perfect fit for our pastures.

Katahdin Sheep

If you’ve been thinking about adding sheep to your farm, our Katahdins are a great low-maintenance option. They’re a hair sheep breed, so no shearing—just easy, natural shedding. We love them for their hardiness, parasite resistance, and how well they do on pasture without tons of extra input. They’ve been a perfect fit for our regenerative setup. We have a few ewe lambs available from April—nice, healthy girls from proven moms. Great option if you’re wanting an easy-start flock or to expand sustainably!

Available: 3-4 ewe Lambs born April 2025, Two 3-year old proven ewes, One 4-year old very proven ram.

**The new lambs are much larger now!

Toulouse Geese (Hatched by parents in April of 2025)

These birds will be processed in July so speak now if you want to add them to your homestead!

Our Toulouse geese have been such a great addition to the farm. They’re calm, gentle on the pasture, and amazing parents—hatching and raising their own babies without any help from us. It’s such a win when animals thrive naturally like this, making them a great option for anyone wanting a more sustainable, self-sufficient flock. Plus, they’re a hardy dual-purpose breed with rich, flavorful meat and soft, beautiful down.

3 Year Old Dexter Cow

Sparrow is a wonderful starter cow. She’s had one baby and has been milked for one lactation. She produced around 2-3 quarts per day. She is open which is the only reason we are considering selling her. We no longer have a bull that can breed with her since we’ve switched to a larger breed for heavier meat production. Sparrow will need to go to a good home… she’s one of my favorites! She’s not a cuddly cow but she follows food and milks well. She is registered through the Legacy Dexter Cattle Association.
